General Steps in Regression Analysis

Regression modeling allows us to quantify the strength of an association and to include multiple predictors in one model to control for confounding and interaction. In general, there are three steps involved in regression analysis:

•Select a model appropriate for the data type and data distrifbution, and verify whether model assumptions are met

•Run and fit the model with predictor selection

•Run regression diagnostics and assess how well the model predicts the data
